Lenticular Design Studio

At Rays 3D our creative team is highly qualified to create designs for Lenticular printing. We can create 3D from the 2D files as well as different types of effects as per the requirement. Our Creative department first understands the concept and the requirement and accordingly develops the Lenticular design to the maximum exposer of the product with using Lenticular medium. We at Rays 3D also develop products as per clients specification and requirement with in the strain budget.

Lenticular photography Studio

We are technically equipped to shoot 3D photograph of products with the latest Technology equipments. In house shooting facility available as well as outdoor shooting on site or any location as per clients requirement.

Lenticular Exhibition Displays

Rays 3D has come out with an innovative Lenticular displays which can be used for exhibitions, conferences, product launches and road shows. We can even design a campaign for exhibitions and promotions with Lenticular products for some specific requirement, which will not only attract the visitors to the exhibition place, but also will mark an long lasting impact with this latest technology medium.

What is Anaglyph

A stereoscopic picture where the left and right eye images are superimposed, but in different colours. A colour filter over each eye only transmits the image component suitable for that eye and the brain interprets the result in three dimensions.

Your ability to see “depth” is based on the fact that each eye sees an object or scene from a different perspective. The brain puts these different views together as a stereoscopic image. An anaglyph involves the use of two pictures of the same image taken from different positions, “fooling” the brain into thinking it is seeing two different views, which creates a stereoscopic image.

Advantages of Anaglyphs

No optical gymnastics are required (no need to go cross eyed or wall-eyed).

Anybody with normal vision can see 3D in an anaglyph.

The image covers the whole computer screen, not just half the screen. Spatial and stereoscopic resolution is twice as good as image pairs.

Red – Cyan stereoscopic glasses are common and cheap, often coming free with magazines showing 3D.

A singe digital projector can show anaglyphs on a screen for a large audience, who see three dimensions through the same, cheap, coloured glasses used for computer or print viewing. This avoids the hassle and expense of two separate projectors as used for polarised viewing.

Anaglyph Glasses

A pair of eyeglasses with two filters of the same colors, once used on the cameras (or now simulated by image processing software manipulations) is worn by the viewer. In the case above, the red lens over the left eye allows only the red part of the anaglyph image through to that eye, while the cyan (blue/green) lens over the right eye allows only the blue and green parts of the image through to that eye. Portions of the image that are red will appear dark through the cyan filter, while portions of colors composed only of green and blue will appear dark through the red filter. Each eye therefore sees only the perspective it is supposed to see.

What is Lenticular?

Very simply, lenticular refers to a sheet of plastic lens (that can come in different sizes and thickness) consisting of an array of optical elements called lenticules that create a convex perspective of multiple images. This technology is used to create a lenticular image. When viewed from different angles, different areas under the lens are reflected to the viewer. Views are arranged under the lens so that each eye is projected a different view. The brain then processes these views to a single coherent 3D, Flip or Animated image.

Lenticular technology actually dates back to the 1690s when Gois-Clair, a French painter, discovered that he could achieve a dimensional effect on canvas by interposing a grid between a viewer and a painting. Gois-Clair painted two distinct pictures on a plane surface, over which he affixed a grid of vertical laths. These laths were arranged perpendicular to the plane and attached to it at right angles. By looking at the painting from the left side, one would see one painting; another distinct painting could be seen from the right side, and a combination of the two paintings could be seen when looking at the painting straight on.

How Lenticular Works?

Lenticular is array of cylindrical lens

Lenticular lens job is to focus light on the print from different angles. A good example would be a pair of eyeglasses. They correct the vision by focusing light onto the eye.

Lenticular sheets consist of lens grooves on one side with coating on the back for printing images. From the lenticular lens groove side, we can see a very thin line of the image on the other side of the lenticular sheet, and this image line’s location is determined by the observer’s view angle. If an image is printed at each lens interval, the observer will see different images when looking from different angles.

One of the interesting aspects of lenticular is not only the cool effects one can create, but the affect they have on consumers. Lenticular has a significantly increased stopping power. That is that people who see a lenticular application are Wowed by it!

Studies have shown that 3D increases the stopping power of advertisements by as much as 5 times and increases the staying power by 4 times in relation to 2D ads. In one Market Watch study, 88% of a sample group stated that they prefer 3D advertisements in relation to 2D advertisements.

People also preferred 3D ads by as much as 2.5 times more over 2D ads. In the same study, 2 times more people felt the advertisement looked better in 3D.

These facts are key reasons as to why marketers continue to utilize lenticular for attention-grabbing campaigns.

For example a leading women’s magazine used an outdoor flip advertisement mounted on the side panels of buses. The result was dramatic, eye-catching ads that instantly captured the attention of the people who viewed it. The magazine was amazed at the response of passers-by’s. People would literally stop in their tracks to catch the full effect of the poster.

In another application a vending machine company turned their machines into compelling 3D displays by installing large (4 feet tall) photographic backlit 3D fronts to 45 of their vending machines. Almost immediately, the company saw a 16% increase in vending machine sales for the lenticular vending machines.
